The Backstage Pass: Life, Work & Our Next Big Chapter

A Season of Stretch: May Reflections & What Comes Next

If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ve likely seen the content I’ve been creating for clients week in and week out. What you haven’t seen as much of is what’s been going on behind the scenes — and this month, it’s been a lot.

May has stretched me in all the best ways.

For the first time in a long time, I finally pulled the trigger on something I’ve been putting off for a year: my own projects. The ideas I’ve placed on the back burner because there were always "more important" things to get done. But with our family planning a full year of travel (including roadschooling our son Jordan!), I realized something had to shift.

I still want to help entrepreneurs feel confident showing up online. But I also want to evolve my brand in a way that includes our family journey and creates space to grow with it.

So, I’ve been building something for the people I can’t take on as monthly clients: a course that teaches what I know, in a way that’s accessible, empowering, and designed to serve.

The past six weeks have been a blur of:

  • Client recording sessions

  • Client content creation

  • Course development, filming, and editing

  • Planning our 2-week trip out west (kicking off a year of travel adventures!)

  • Organizing the house and confirming all the travel logistics (flights, hotels, rental cars, etc.)

And through it all? For once, I haven’t procrastinated. I’ve gone to bed each night feeling proud of what I checked off and somehow still excited to wake up and do it all again the next day.

That’s not to say it’s been easy. I’ve had to work late nights. I’ve felt the mom guilt creep in. And I’ve leaned more than ever on Ty, who has become the default chef, cleaner, and solo bedtime parent these days.

But Ty keeps reminding me: this will all be worth it.

We’re creating something special; a season where we can raise our son while exploring the world together, and still grow a brand that allows me to serve clients and help others feel confident about using social media for good.

June is going to be a big month. And I know that a few weeks from now, I’ll look back and be so thankful for all the extra work I put in right now.

Thanks for being here for the ride.
